In the video Senior Sales Engineer, Gabe Suppes, breaks down Materialise Magics top five offerings.
1. Easy to process different file types
As any RP manager knows, the number of additive files can get overwhelming. Unless you have the corresponding software, making adjustments to the file can be nearly impossible. Magics bridges the gap between CAD files and 3D printers, by importing nearly all standard CAD formats, letting you fully control your original data.
2. File fixing
Oftentimes, 3D print files contain errors. Magics’ file fixing tool allows 3D printer managers to correct problems, creating watertight data. The STL file repair includes fixing of flipped triangles, bad edges, holes, and other defects. By using Magics, our customers print their parts error-free, the first time.
3. Editing STL files
A big challenge our customers face is editing STL files. Magics allows the 3D printer manager to make simple STL edits, like geometry manipulation, hollowing, textures, scaling, slicing, and even serializing large quantities of parts for production. This process can save the 3D printer manager hours, by avoiding a tedious back-and-forth with their engineers for CAD file change requests. Using Magics makes their teams more efficient.
4. Create custom supports and structures
Some of our customers have 3D printing technologies, such as SLA, DLP, or DMLS, which require the user to generate support structures. Magics is the most efficient software on the market for this process, leading to less material waste and more reliable builds.
5. Efficient part nesting
Magics enables our customers to maximize their throughput, by using as much of their printer’s build volume as possible.
At Purple, our team of engineers and RP lab managers use Magics every day. The software makes their jobs easier and our machines more efficient. We cannot recommend it enough. To learn more about Materialise Magics and its capabilities, contact our team at ask@purpleplatypus.com or 949.474.9222.
