Purple Platypus is looking for a full-time Outside Sales Representative to join our team and play a key role in the company’s continued growth.
As an Outside Sales Representative of industrial grade 3D printers and 3D service Bureau services, your primary responsibilities will be to establish and maintain profitable relationships with customers on behalf of the company, actively prospect for new accounts, and maximize sales potential with existing customers. You will represent the company by conveying expertise in our products, services, and capabilities, and establish a relationship with the community and business accounts.
Our ideal candidate is an outgoing, focused, and motivated individual with previous sales experience and strong sales skills. Experience in the 3D printing industry is a plus. We are looking for an individual with a positive attitude, a confident and outgoing personality, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and strong customer service skills. Candidates must be able to travel to client sites and work in office, R&D and industrial environments.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Prospects for new customers, develops new business, targets key prospects, and retains business
- Presents and discusses the products and services of the company in a way that conveys an image of quality, integrity, and superior understanding and fulfillment of customer needs
- Understands and complies with the sales system/program in place
- Develops annual sales strategy in conjunction with management and identifies joint marketing opportunities where applicable
- Keeps current on new technology
- Communicates effectively with management, marketing, and production teams; informing and updating them regularly to guarantee that sales and customer objectives are met
- Qualifies leads, making a minimum of 20 contacts per day via telemarketing
- Gathers information about 3D printing decision-makers and adds that information to the database
- Conveys the value of our 3D print center’s capabilities to prospects
- Develops and executes an ongoing plan to target at least five key accounts per month
- Establishes eight new accounts per month
- Completes at least three sales appointments with customers and/or prospects per day
- Pro-actively follows up with clients and prospects
Qualifications:
- Previous sales experience
- Strong sales aptitude
- Able to identify and meet customers’ needs and requirements
- Must have initiative and be able to problem solve
- Valid driver’s license
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Effective listening, communication (verbal and written), negotiation, and phone skills
