In this edition of 30 on 3D, Senior R&D Engineer, Peter Montgomery, discusses the FixWizard in Materialise Magics. The FixWizard is a tool that our Purple engineers often use when looking at geometry, to understand what’s going on in a file.
First, load a part into Magics. Once the part is loaded, you will be able to see any issues within the part. In our example, the part has some unstitched edges and some flipped surfaces. With the FixWizard, you can very quickly understand what is occurring with the part. In a matter of a few steps, you can automatically fix the part, leaving a single unified mesh that is watertight and ready for printing.
